Hello! I am knackered! So I will soon be off to bed, but first I will tell you how I got on at Crawley Long Course meet. I think I did really well in all my events, with the exception of my 100m front crawl. I don't know what went wrong, but I did rubbish! It was a long day and my events were all really tough, as I am not used to racing in a 50m pool, so it was good as I got a lot of experience out of it.
The event I did best in was the 200m breastroke, which I didn't do that well in at club champs, although I did get a Pb. My coach Pete was really shocked as not only did I beat my short course Pb by 7 seconds, I also got a bronze medal! I couldn't believe it as I don't think I have ever won a medal in my breastroke at an open meet before, so I was really happy.
I did ok in my 200m IM although I mistaked the false start rope for the flags so I started to count my strokes for my back-to-breast turn and got a bit of a surprise when the wall wasn't there! But I quickly realised and carried on going, and in the end I got a good Pb. I really enjoy long course and I think it suits me better, and I really enjoyed the open meet, even though it was really tiring. We got home at about 8.30pm and I ate some dinner then went to bed and fell asleep straight away! I then had swimming this morning, which went well, it was quite quiet and relaxing. I was tired, but I still worked hard and the session went ok.
Well I am now going to bed, as I have swimming again the morning and I need to get as much sleep as I can, I don't want to fall asleep in citizenship tomorrow!
